Paul Feig, the director of Another Simple Favor, has opened up about the film’s twist-filled ending and confirmed he's open to a third installment in the hit dark comedy franchise.

Starring Blake Lively and Anna Kendrick, Another Simple Favor expands on the mysterious world introduced in the original, this time shifting the spotlight to Italy with new characters and even wilder plot twists. The big reveal? Emily (Lively) has a secret third sister, Charity (also played by Lively), raised by their Aunt Linda (Allison Janney) to become a con artist and killer.

Feig explained to Entertainment Weekly that this shocking twist was a late addition. Originally, the character Dante (Michele Morrone) was the villain, but the script evolved to raise the stakes and keep the story more focused. The final act sees Emily manipulating events once again and disappearing, leaving Charity to take the fall for multiple crimes.

Stephanie (Anna Kendrick) not only clears her name but ends the film empowered, publishing a new book and taking custody of Emily’s son, Nicky. The ending nods to the complexities of true crime storytelling and character redemption.

Feig also teased the potential for more, noting, “I have no rule against three-quels,” despite his usual aversion to sequels. The final scene shows Emily approached for another “simple favor,” hinting at future complications.

While no third film is confirmed, fans may not have seen the last of Emily or her chaos-loving twin. Could Charity’s unstable nature or Emily’s new favor pull them back into trouble again?
