Search continues for missing tourist

Khanpur police confirmed that the search will continue until the missing person is found.

KHANPUR:

A rescue operation entered its second day on Friday as teams continue to search for a missing tourist who disappeared after a boat capsized in Khanpur Dam during a severe windstorm on Thursday.

According to initial reports, six tourists were aboard the ill-fated boat when strong winds caused it to overturn.

Rescue teams responded swiftly, saving five of the individuals, while efforts are ongoing to locate the sixth. Khanpur police confirmed that the search will continue until the missing person is found.

Rescue 1122 teams from Haripur and Swabi, led by District Emergency Officer Rafiullah Marwat, are actively engaged in the operation. In response to the incident, President of the Khanpur Boat Association, Raja Hanif Kayani, announced the suspension of all boating and recreational activities at the dam until the search concludes.
