Pakistan is set to roll out its largest DC fast-charging network for electric vehicles, as part of a joint initiative by BYD Pakistan and HUBCO Green (Private) Limited (HGL), the companies announced on Friday.
The partnership aims to install 128 DC fast chargers across the country over the next three years, with 50 chargers operational by December 2025.
The initiative targets three key areas: urban centres, intercity highways, and high-traffic destinations such as shopping malls and hospitals.
Urban hubs will be served through collaboration with oil marketing companies including PSO, PARCO Gunvor, and Attock Petroleum, while chargers along highways will be placed every 150 to 200 kilometres to enable long-distance travel. Destination charging stations are also planned at commercial venues to improve accessibility.
