The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast moderate relief from the prevailing heatwave, particularly for residents of Karachi and parts of Sindh.
In a statement issued by the Early Warning Centre, the Met Office predicted stronger-than-usual winds in Karachi over the next three days. Temperatures in the city are expected to range between 34°C and 36°C on Thursday and Friday.
Humidity levels in the evening may reach between 50% and 60%, making the temperature feel higher than the actual reading. Meteorologists have warned that this may lead to increased discomfort and a suffocating atmosphere during the evening hours.
Elsewhere in the province, the ongoing heatwave is expected to ease starting Friday, as a western weather system influences the upper parts of the country. Under this system, thunderstorms and light rain have been forecast in Jamshoro district.
Between May 2 and May 5, various rural districts of Sindh could experience thunderstorms and scattered showers. Authorities and residents have been advised to take necessary precautions during this period.
