Shah Rukh Khan, one of Bollywood’s biggest stars, is reportedly in talks with Marvel Studios for a potential role in an upcoming project.

The news, which has sparked massive excitement among fans, emerged from a now-deleted social media post by a Marvel leaks account on X (formerly Twitter).

The post, which quickly went viral, stated that Shah Rukh Khan was in "early talks" with Marvel Studios for a role, but clarified that it would not be in the highly anticipated Avengers: Doomsday.

Although there is no official confirmation from Marvel or Shah Rukh Khan's team, the rumour mill has gone into overdrive with speculation about his entry into the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

The account shared an image of Shah Rukh Khan with no caption, further fuelling the frenzy among fans who are eager to see the Bollywood megastar join the ranks of Marvel heroes.

Shah Rukh Khan has long been an iconic figure in Bollywood, but he has been hesitant about pursuing roles in Hollywood, as he has expressed in several interviews.

Shah Rukh Khan has previously stated that any potential role in Hollywood would need to be substantial enough to live up to the immense respect he has earned from his global fanbase.

In an interview with Variety, he said, “I don’t want to sound uppity, but it should be a role worthy of the status the Indian audience has given me.” He emphasised that it must not let down the people who have supported him throughout his career.

This recent speculation about Shah Rukh Khan’s future in Hollywood came after years of him largely avoiding minor foreign roles. His refusal to take on small Hollywood projects has been a result of his high regard for his audience and the immense affection he has received from them.

In the past, Shah Rukh Khan has jokingly said that he didn’t feel qualified for Western films, admitting that he didn’t know Kung Fu or salsa and wasn’t tall enough for roles in the West.

This latest rumour aligns with recent developments in the Marvel universe, where the studio is expanding its roster of diverse characters, and there is an increasing push for more representation from around the world.

Shah Rukh Khan’s last major release was Dunki (2023), where he starred alongside Vicky Kaushal, Taapsee Pannu, Anil Grover, and Vishu Kaushal.

While Khan’s entry into the MCU has not yet been officially confirmed, the speculation continues to generate excitement, with many eagerly awaiting the official announcement regarding his role in the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
