The Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecasted ongoing heatwave conditions across most parts of Sindh, including Karachi, with temperatures expected to remain significantly above seasonal norms until May 2.

According to the Early Warning Centre of the Met Office, maximum temperatures in Karachi are likely to exceed 39°C today and tomorrow. Combined with high humidity levels — expected to range between 50% and 55% — residents may experience much higher "feels-like" temperatures.

The city is also forecast to undergo hot and humid weather with stronger-than-usual winds over the next three days.

Meanwhile, other parts of Sindh are also facing intensified heat. Daytime temperatures in districts such as Dadu, Qambar Shahdadkot, Shaheed Benazirabad, Jacobabad, Kashmore, Ghotki, Shikarpur, Khairpur, Naushahro Feroze, Larkana, Sukkur, and Jamshoro are projected to be 6°C to 8°C above normal.

Southern districts including Tharparkar, Umerkot, Mirpurkhas, Matiari, Tando Muhammad Khan, Tando Allahyar, Hyderabad, and Badin are also likely to see temperatures rise by 3°C to 5°C above average.

Authorities have advised the public to stay hydrated, avoid outdoor exposure during peak afternoon hours, and take necessary precautions to prevent heat-related illnesses.
