The State Bank of Pakistan has announced that all commercial banks and financial institutions will remain closed on Thursday, May 1, 2025, in observance of Labour Day. This closure aligns with the national public holiday declared for the occasion.

The central bank issued a statement confirming that the State Bank of Pakistan itself will also be closed on the specified date. Consequently, all commercial banks and financial institutions throughout the country will suspend operations for the day.

Labour Day, also known as International Workers’ Day, is observed worldwide to commemorate the historic fight for fair wages, reasonable working hours, and improved working conditions.

In Pakistan, the day is marked with rallies, seminars, and events organized by trade unions and workers' associations, highlighting ongoing efforts to safeguard labor rights and promote social justice.
