
A report detailing the jail conditions of former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s wife, Bushra Bibi, has been submitted to the Islamabad High Court.
The report stated that Bushra Bibi receives regular health monitoring and has access to a dedicated kitchen space within the jail, Express News reported.
Justice Raja Inam Amin Minhas of the Islamabad High Court on Tuesday heard the petition requesting improved jail facilities for Bushra Bibi. Her lawyers, Usman Gul and Zaheer Abbas Advocate, appeared in court.
The Advocate General’s Office submitted a report from the jail superintendent.
The court instructed that the report be shared with Bushra Bibi’s legal team.
According to the report, Bushra Bibi is being held in a separate and spacious room.
She receives medical check-ups twice a day. A mattress, chair, table, bookshelf, and adequate lighting and fan facilities have been provided in the room.
The report further states that a room cooler has been installed for summer, and an LCD television is available.
A separate kitchen has been arranged to allow her to cook her meals, which are examined by the prison medical officer before being served.
The court directed Bushra Bibi’s counsel to review the report and present their response at the next hearing.
The court stated that the case would proceed according to the roster schedule.
Earlier,an anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Monday extended the interim bail of Bushra Bibi, in two cases related to the November 26 protest till June 11.
Judge Abual Hasnat Muhammad Zulqarnain of the ATC heard Bushra Bibi's bail petitions. Her counsel submitted applications seeking an exemption from personal appearance.
