17 more TTP infiltrators neutralised in N Waziristan
The security forces killed 17 more Tehrreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) terrorists during a "deliberate sanitisation operation" in the North Waziristan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where the troops eliminated 54 intruders from Afghanistan in the previous nights, the military said on Monday.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a press release that the operation was conducted in surrounding areas of Hassan Khel, along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border in the night between Sunday and Monday.
It is the same area where the security forces had killed 54 TTP terrorists, while they were trying to infiltrate through the Pakistan-Afghanistan border on Friday night and Saturday night. With the killing of 17 more terrorists, the total number of infiltrators killed by the forces rises to 71 in three nights.
"Following the successful engagements by the security forces in North Waziristan District (NWD) from 25-27 April 2025, during which fifty-four khwarij were sent to hell; on night 27/28 April 2025, a deliberate sanitization operation was conducted in surrounding areas of Hassan Khel, NWD, along Pakistan-Afghanistan Border," the ISPR said, referring to the TTP terrorists.
"During the conduct of the operation, seventeen more khwarij, who were operating at the behest of their foreign masters, were hunted down and successfully neutralized. Weapons, ammunition & explosives were also recovered from the killed khwarij," it added.
"The number of khwarij killed in three days anti-infiltration operation has risen to seventy-one. The Security Forces remain committed to secure the nation's frontiers and thwart attempts at sabotaging peace, stability and progress of Pakistan."
President Asif Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, in their separate statements on Monday. paid tribute to the security forces for killing 17 terrorists during an operation in Hassan Khel area. They lauded the bravery of the security forces.
Zardari reaffirmed to continuing security operations until the complete eradication of terrorism. "The successful operations by our security forces against terrorists are commendable," he said, vowing to uphold the unwavering commitment to the defence of the country and the elimination of terrorism.
Shehbaz pointed out that "the killing of 71 Khawarij terrorists during the security operations in North Waziristan over the past three days, clearly shows that our law-enforcement agencies are fully determined and vigilant in their mission to eliminate terrorism".
"We will continue to thwart the nefarious designs of these terrorists (enemies of humanity), in the same resolute manner," he added. The prime minister expressed the determination to continue war against terrorism until the complete eradication of this menace from the country.
