Is Zilqad moon expected to be visible in Pakistan today?

SUPARCO said sufficient time between sunset and moonset should aid moon sighting efforts.

The Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO) has issued a forecast for the sighting of the Zilqad moon in Pakistan.

SUPARCO announced that the birth of the new moon for Zilqad 1446 Hijri is expected at 12:31am on the night of April 28, 2025, Express News reported.

At sunset on April 28, the age of the new moon will be approximately 18 hours and 51 minutes.

In the coastal areas of the country, the interval between sunset and moonset is expected to be 53 minutes, which will provide favourable conditions for sighting the new moon.

Based on astronomical parameters, the new moon of Zilqad is likely to be visible on the evening of April 28, 2025, under clear weather conditions. As a result, the first of Zilqad is expected to fall on April 29, 2025.
