Two brothers fatally trapped in iron tank
Two young brothers lost their lives after being accidentally trapped in an iron tank in village of Mandiki Goraiya, a suburb of Daska.
Police said Arham, 6 and Obaidullah, 5, sons of Afzal Goraiya, were playing at home when they climbed onto the roof where an iron tank, recently cleaned for the wheat harvest, had been left. While playing, the children entered the tank and accidentally closed the lid.
The hook-like latch on top automatically locked, trapping the boys inside. Oblivious to the unfolding disaster, the family only realised something was wrong when the children were nowhere to be found.
After frantic searching and inquiries throughout the neighborhood, they contacted Saddar Daska Police Station.
SHO Jahanzeb Khan and his team rushed to the scene, joining the desperate search.
Announcements were made through local mosques, and the entire community joined the effort, but no one imagined that the children were locked just above - on the roof of their own home.
Late at night, during another round of searching, family members finally checked the iron tank.
Upon opening the lid, they were devastated to find the lifeless bodies of Arham and Obaidullah inside.
The boys were immediately rushed to Civil Hospital Daska, but doctors confirmed their deaths due to suffocation.
Grief engulfed the entire village as funeral prayers were held for the two little brothers, with scenes of heartache and tears witnessed by all.
Speaking on the incident, SHO Jahanzeb Khan urged parents to keep a close watch on young children, especially near potential hazards.
