KARACHI:

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Friday marked its 29th Foundation Day as Pakistan Solidarity Day across Sindh. Rallies were staged and gatherings held across the province on the call of PTI Sindh President Haleem Adil Sheikh.

The main rally was held in Karachi in which participants marched from Insaf House to Mazar-e-Quaid. Sheikh, along with PTI General Secretary Dr Masroor Sial, Karachi President Raja Azhar, Karachi General Secretary Arsalan Khalid, led the rally.

A large number of party workers, including women, participated in the rally, carrying national and party flags while chanting slogans in support of PTI founder Imran Khan and calling for his immediate release. They also condemned India's move to suspend the Indus Waters Treaty, labeling it an act of "water terrorism" by the Modi government. They pledged solidarity in defence of Pakistan's sovereignty and reaffirmed their support for the country's water rights.

Before the rally, Sheikh addressed a press conference at Insaf House, where he said that PTI, founded by Imran Khan 29 years ago, had grown to become Pakistan's largest political party. He praised party workers for their sacrifices and commitment to democratic principles, emphasising that "the entire nation stands united under Imran Khan's leadership."

Sheikh warned of a robust national response should India attempt to undermine Pakistan's water rights or violate international agreements. "Modi has emerged as a regional threat, already exposed on the global stage, including by Canada," he said.
