A new video leak has unveiled what is claimed to be the upcoming iPhone 17 Air, showcasing a design that's thinner than any iPhone before it.

The device, reportedly from dummy models circulating in China, could reshape Apple’s smartphone offering with an incredibly slim profile.

The video, shared by Unbox Therapy on YouTube, offers a first look at the iPhone 17 Air, which is expected to be significantly thinner than current models.

The device measures just 5.65mm at its smallest point, compared to the 8.75mm thickness of the iPhone 16 Pro Max.

For context, the iPhone 17 Air’s thinness is even slimmer than a pencil, setting it apart from its bulkier predecessors.

In the video, host Lewis George Hilsenteger examines the dummy models, and while he expresses concerns about the potential for bending, he notes that this can't be fully verified until the real device is in consumers' hands.

If the leak proves accurate, the iPhone 17 Air could be Apple's thinnest and most pocket-friendly design to date.

However, achieving such extreme thinness may come at a cost.

The iPhone 17 Air is expected to feature just one camera lens and could also have a smaller battery, a move that suggests Apple is prioritising style over features in this iteration.

These compromises raise questions about the device's performance and longevity.

This leak is part of a growing wave of rumours surrounding the iPhone 17 series.

Previous leaks have hinted at an extended camera bar for the iPhone 17 Pro, offering increased customisation for cases, while other reports have suggested a budget “e” model could be introduced alongside the regular iPhone 17 lineup.

Despite the sacrifices made to achieve its slim design, the iPhone 17 Air could still prove to be a stylish choice for consumers looking for a sleek and lightweight device.

Apple's plans for its new release remain under wraps, but the device is expected to be unveiled officially in September 2025, as per the company’s usual launch schedule.
