A new documentary titled P Diddy: The Rise and Fall is set to delve into the career and legal challenges of hip-hop mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs.

Announced on Wednesday (April 23) by the BBC, the documentary will focus on the events that led to Diddy's stardom and the controversial systems that may have protected him over the years.

The documentary will be hosted by journalist Yinka Bokinni, who will speak to individuals close to the music mogul to shed light on his turbulent past year. Bokinni shared her thoughts on the project, stating, “My job is to tell stories—but never did I imagine I’d be telling this one.” She explained that investigating Diddy’s alleged actions has illuminated the darker side of the entertainment industry, which many people aspire to be part of. She added, “We sang his songs, bought into the lifestyle, watched the shows and wanted more. This has been an emotional, sometimes difficult experience.”

The documentary will air on April 28, as Diddy faces mounting legal woes, including charges related to sex trafficking. In recent months, Diddy has undergone a physical transformation while awaiting his trial, with reports noting his grey hair and significant weight loss since his time in jail. Last week, the Bad Boy Records founder appeared in court requesting a delay in his trial, which was denied by the judge.

With his trial set to begin on May 5, followed by opening statements on May 12, the documentary will offer viewers an insight into Diddy’s career and the unfolding legal drama surrounding him. The upcoming trial, combined with the new documentary, is sure to captivate the public’s attention.
