Netflix is set to unveil the official teaser for Wednesday season 2 today, after offering fans a first glimpse into the next chapter of the widely popular Addams Family spin-off.
The series, which stars Jenna Ortega as the enigmatic Wednesday Addams, is expected to return later in 2025 following the conclusion of production in Ireland.
An official poster released on 22 April shows Ortega’s Wednesday crying black tears while tied to a chair, accompanied by the tagline, “The wait has been torture.” The poster hints at a darker and more intense narrative direction, with the teaser set to provide further clues about the upcoming season.
Returning cast members include Catherine Zeta-Jones, Luis Guzmán, Isaac Ordonez, and Emma Myers. New additions to the ensemble feature Steve Buscemi, Thandiwe Newton, Billie Piper, and a brief but buzzworthy cameo from Lady Gaga. Co-creators Al Gough and Miles Millar have also revealed the title of the season opener: “Here We Woe Again,” directed by Tim Burton.
The showrunners have promised a deeper exploration into Wednesday’s world, with an increased focus on horror elements and standalone, cinematic-style episodes. Ortega recently stated that the character will lean more into her antihero persona, stepping away from romantic subplots to concentrate on mystery and self-driven storylines.
Filming for the new season wrapped in late 2024, but post-production efforts are still underway, with Ortega confirming she was completing additional dialogue recording as recently as March. A brief clip from Netflix's Hero 2025 showcase also previewed intense scenes between Wednesday and Tyler Galpin, indicating unresolved tensions will carry over from season 1.
More details, including an official release date, are expected in the coming weeks.
