The federal government has decided to invite fresh expressions of interest (EOIs) on April 24 for the privatisation of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), providing a window of at least one month to both domestic and international investors.
According to the Privatisation Commission, the pre-qualification criteria have been made more stringent to ensure that only serious and credible investors participate in the process.
The plan involves the sale of 10% to 51% of PIA shares, with officials assuring that employees' rights and the current service structure will be safeguarded throughout the transition.
