The latest episode of Suits: LA, aired Sunday, brought a mix of emotional depth and nostalgic callbacks to the original Suits series. While Donna Paulsen did not appear onscreen, she was mentioned by Ted as he and Harvey Specter worked together to bring mobster Pellegrini back to justice.
During a scene in New York, Harvey received a text from a contact saved as “My Boy,” reading: “Daddy, when are you going to call?” Ted later questioned Harvey about the texts, confirming that his friend now has a son. Harvey jokingly said the boy’s name was Ted, before revealing with a smirk, “It’s Kevin. I always liked him better.”
The exchange not only revealed Harvey’s fatherhood but also gave fans a glimpse into his life with Donna following their wedding in the series finale. Although the LA spinoff hasn’t confirmed whether they’re still in Seattle working with Mike and Rachel, Harvey’s wedding band and mention of their child suggest the couple remains happily together.
The episode also offered a moment of emotional vulnerability as Harvey told Ted that his brother, Marcus, had died from cancer a few years ago. That moment was followed by a closing tribute: “In honor of Billy Miller,” referring to the actor who played Marcus Specter. Miller passed away in September 2023 at age 43 following a battle with bipolar disorder.
Adding another connection to the original series, David Costabile returned as Daniel Hardman. In a flashback, Ted questioned Hardman during the 2010 racketeering trial against Pellegrini. In the present, Harvey, Ted, and Kevin attempted to turn Pellegrini’s associates against each other by offering immunity—though Harvey later admitted that his contact, Cahill (a DOJ prosecutor played by Neal McDonough), lacked the jurisdiction to make such a deal.
