Man arrested for attempted assault on minor in Lahore's Kahna area

Incident took place in Sadho Ki village, where boy identified as Hamza, had gone to cut fodder in the field

A man was arrested in Lahore's Kahna area for allegedly attempting to assault a 15-year-old boy, police said on Friday.

According to the police, the incident took place in Sadho Ki village, where the boy had gone to cut fodder in the field. The suspect named Heera, allegedly lured the boy and attempted to assault him.

During the incident, the boy raised an alarm. The suspect reportedly responded by threatening to kill him and physically assaulting him.

Police said the boy sustained injuries on his left arm as a result of the struggle.

The Kahna police carried out a prompt operation and arrested the suspect from the locality.

A case has been registered against him and has been handed over to the Gender Cell for further investigation.

The Station House Officer (SHO) Kahna police station said the matter is being investigated with full seriousness. "The suspect will be dealt with according to the ;aw. Those involved in any form of child exploitation and abuse will face strict action," he said.

Police officials urged the publci to remain vigilant and immediately report any suspicious activity, especially concerning children's safety.

"There would be no leniency for individuals invovled in such crimes," the SHO added.

The investigation is currently ongoing, and further legal proceedings will be based on the evidence collected by the Gender Cell.
