Becky G premieres personal documentary Rebbeca at 2025 Tribeca Film Festival

Becky G shares her personal journey in Rebbeca, debuting at Tribeca alongside performance and música mexicana insights

Becky G is set to premiere a new documentary, Rebbeca (AKA Becky G), at the 2025 Tribeca Film Festival in New York City. The festival will run from June 4 to 15, and the project was announced as part of this year’s official line-up on April 16.

Directed and produced by Jennifer Tiexiera—best known for HBO’s Unveiled: Surviving La Luz del Mundo—and Gabriela Cavanagh, the film explores Becky G’s personal and artistic journey while creating her first música mexicana album, Esquinas, which was released in 2023.

Becky G, whose real name is Rebbeca Marie Gomez, rose to fame with pop hits like “Shower,” and genre-blending collaborations such as “Mayores” with Bad Bunny and “Mamiii” with Karol G. She has also appeared in film and television, including her role as the Yellow Ranger in the 2017 Power Rangers reboot and a voice cameo in 2023’s Blue Beetle.

The documentary’s synopsis notes that Becky G revisits her cultural roots and reflects on a complex past while working on Esquinas. Following the film’s premiere, she is also scheduled to perform at the festival.

Ticket packages for Tribeca 2025 are currently available on the official festival website. Single-day tickets will be released to Tribeca members on April 24 and to the general public on April 29.

The documentary marks a reflective moment in Becky G’s career, coming on the heels of her second música mexicana album, Encuentros, released in 2024.
