Senator Faisal Vawda said on Thursday that he had already predicted fragmentation of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) into multiple factions.
In a interview with a private TV channel, he said that the PTI was converting into a "PTI-Pakistan", just like the MQM Pakistan, adding that fate would decide who would rule the party.
"The army chief has shown the way how to bring Pakistan back on track. After which, the government and political parties have gained confidence," said Vawda. "We have got a qualified army chief and he is doing a good job," he said.
"Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is standing along the army chief. The Senator added that Shehbaz was not doing what his brother, and Imran Khan did.
He said the government and its ally were hesitant to talk about the PTI six months ago but now they were calling it a 'fitna party'.
Vawda said that Imran Khan got nothing in two-and-a-half-years, while N-League got power. "The army is not interested in a deal as it is focusing on the country's security and economy."
Vawda said that Imran seemed to be in big trouble as his party did not want him out of jail. "The PTI leaders are enjoying by just raising slogans and trying to be popular in public."
