
A three-member delegation from the US Embassy visited Adiala Jail following the grant of consular access to American national Zahir Jaffer. The meeting focused on his health and other legal matters.
According to jail sources, the delegation met with Zahir Jaffer after receiving consular permission. The delegation included US Embassy officials Michael Patrick, Maria, and security officer Mehwish. The meeting took place in the office of the Deputy Superintendent and lasted approximately 45 minutes.
The primary purpose of the visit was to check on the welfare of the American citizen and to discuss legal assistance. Following the meeting, the delegation returned to Islamabad.
On July 20, 2021, Noor Mukadam was found brutally murdered in Islamabad's upscale F-7/4 sector. Following the discovery of her body, Jaffer was arrested as the prime suspect in the case.
A trial court in Islamabad on February 24, 2022 sentenced Jaffer to death for murdering Noor Mukadam.
