Linkin Park has been announced as the headliners for the UEFA Champions League Final Kick-Off Show, presented by Pepsi.
The performance, set for May 31 at the Munich Football Arena, marks the band's debut at this iconic event. The band, known for their global influence, shared their excitement, stating, "This marks a totally new experience for us, and we're excited to share some of our favourite songs from the past and present with the thousands in the crowd and millions watching around the world."
In preparation for their performance, Linkin Park released a newly recorded remix of their hit single Numb, blending its iconic riffs with their UEFA Champions League collaboration. This comes on the heels of their successful return to the music scene with From Zero, their first album in seven years. The album, which topped global charts, features tracks like Heavy Is The Crown and The Emptiness Machine, the latter becoming the biggest rock song of 2024.
Pepsi and UEFA have partnered since 2016 to bring live performances to the world’s most-watched football event, enhancing the Champions League final with major musical talent. This year, Linkin Park will follow in the footsteps of Lenny Kravitz, who performed at last year's event.
Eric Melis, VP of Global Brand Marketing at PepsiCo, expressed excitement about the collaboration, saying, "We are proud to announce one of the most influential rock bands of the 21st century, Linkin Park, to headline this year’s Kick-Off Show. They embody the spirit of innovation and boldness that Pepsi stands for, and we can’t wait to see fans' reactions."
Fans can catch the performance through local broadcasters and UEFA's official YouTube channel. Linkin Park's new album From Zero is available now, with the band currently on their 2024 world tour.
