Quaydarius Davis, a 22-year-old former Southern University wide receiver and NFL prospect, was arrested in Tulsa, Oklahoma on Saturday, 12 April.

He faces charges of first-degree burglary and domestic abuse and battery by strangulation, according to WAFB. His arrest follows public allegations made by his former partner, Ja’Yunna Monae, who shared video evidence and a personal statement on social media.

Monae alleged that Davis assaulted her following their breakup, which she said stemmed from discovering prior domestic violence claims involving Davis and the mother of his child. In a video posted to her social accounts, Monae claimed Davis forced entry into her home, physically assaulted her, and rendered her unconscious.

She wrote, “DOMESTIC VIOLENCE IS NEVER OK. This man choked me until I passed out and peed on myself. He kicked my door down and punched me numerous times all because I didn’t wanna be with him anymore.”

Monae confirmed she contacted local police and intends to press charges. She also addressed criticisms accusing her of seeking financial gain, stating, “I have my OWN BUSINESS, MY OWN HUSTLE, MY OWN CRIB… I’m THE BREAD WINNER.”

Davis was previously dismissed from Southern University’s football team in October 2024 for violating team rules. The nature of the violation was not disclosed, and a university spokesperson confirmed Davis no longer has ties to the athletic programme.

Earlier this month, Davis had announced on social media his intention to enter the transfer portal, with one year of eligibility remaining. The arrest casts uncertainty over his professional prospects as the NFL Draft approaches.

He is currently being held on $20,000 bail at the Tulsa County Jail. Legal proceedings are pending, and no court date has been confirmed as of now.
