Lahore Qalandars’ wicketkeeper-batter Sam Billings smashed a blistering 19-ball half-century to help his side post a formidable 219-6 against Quetta Gladiators, as the Qalandars cruised to a dominant 79-run victory in a one-sided contest in their fourth match of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 10 on Sunday.

Playing at the Pindi Cricket Stadium, the Englishman remained unbeaten, anchoring an aggressive innings that powered the defending champions to their highest total of the tournament so far.

Billings’ 19-ball fifty set a new franchise record for the fastest half-century by a Qalandars batter in PSL history, surpassing Umar Akmal’s 22-ball effort from the league’s inaugural season in 2016.

Umar Akmal – 22 balls on 8th February, 2016

Chris Lynn – 22 balls on 15th March, 2020

The overall PSL record for the fastest half-century remains 17 balls, jointly held by Asif Ali and Rilee Rossouw.
