The administration of Rawalpindi's Adiala Jail has sought special guards from the Islamabad Police in view of an order of a district and sessions judge who has directed authorities to present former prime minister Imran Khan in his court on Tuesday.
Islamabad Additional District and Session Judge Muhammad Afzal Majoka had summoned Imran Khan in connection with his bail applications in various cases including a case of attempted murder and provision of fake receipts.
According to sources, in view of the summons, the Adiala Jail superintendent has written a letter to the Islamabad Police requesting special security for the PTI founder during his possible appearance at Islamabad's Kacheri.
They said the jail authorities will later inform the court about the response of the police. Since his arrest in August 2023, Imran Khan has not been presented in any court and all his trials have been held inside the jail premises.
