A FlyDubai flight from Dubai to Dhaka was forced to make an emergency landing at Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport early Friday due to a medical emergency.
The flight, GZ 501, landed safely at 3:20 AM local time and was parked at Bay 21, according to Pakistan Airport Authority spokesperson Saifullah.
The affected passenger, a Bangladeshi national, was immediately attended to by the airport’s medical officer and later transferred to Aga Khan Hospital via ambulance.
Around two hours later, at approximately 5:15 AM, the aircraft encountered a technical malfunction. All 159 passengers were safely evacuated from the plane and taken to the transit lounge.
A replacement cockpit crew and technical team were dispatched from Dubai to address the issue.
After repairs were completed and necessary clearances obtained, the flight resumed its journey to Dhaka at 1:21 PM local time.
