A grieving widow has sought police protection of her family after her one son was killed and anothr critically injured in a violent attack at their home in the Bagh area other day.

The family claimed the attack was part of an escalating dispute, though motives remain under investigation. The police registered a case under section 302, 324 and 34 the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) and arrested three accused. Nazeeran Bibi alleged that the suspects' brothers, one Shakoor and others are hurling her surviving family members death threats for pursuing case.

She further alleged that despite lodging a case, police authorities have yet to take any action, citing the accused family's "influence and wealth" as factors in the delay of justice.

In her plea to the DPO, Nazeeran demanded immediate legal protection to ensure her family's safety while seeking accountability for Faraz's murder. "We live in constant fear. My children's lives are in danger," she stated, urging authorities to intervene.

Director Ayub Teaching Hospital, Dr Daud Iqbal, when contacted, confirmed that injured Zeeshan is admitted in Nureo surgery ward in a critical condition. He told that hospital has been extending all out efforts to provide him health facilities available in the institution.

Civil society groups have called for swift accountability to restore public trust in law enforcement.
