CM wants business loan schemes simplified

More than 80,000 loan applications have been approved

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has called for simplifying the Asaan Karobar Finance and Card schemes for providing loans to businesspersons as per their needs.

Presided over a meeting to review progress in the schemes, she urged steps to encourage entrepreneurs to establish new units.

The chief minister was informed that those who had obtained loans were involved in the transport, pharmaceutical and small scale businesses. More than 80,000 loan applications have been approved and loans have been granted to 34,000 applicants through the finance and card schemes.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz ordered that feedback should betake from all recipients of loans. She contacted a couple of beneficiaries who run grocery stores and had received Rs355,000 and Rs800,000 through the finance schemes, and also spoke to a man who runs an agricultural input business from Taunsa.
