South African all-rounder Corbin Bosch has been banned from the Pakistan Super League (PSL) for one year after breaching his contract by withdrawing from the tournament, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) said Thursday.

Bosch, 30, was picked by Peshawar Zalmi during January’s player draft but later pulled out to participate in Indian Premier League(IPL), violating his PSL agreement.

The PCB also imposed a financial penalty, though the amount was not disclosed. A source close to the matter said the details remain confidential due to a non-disclosure agreement signed with the player.

“I deeply regret my decision to withdraw from the HBL Pakistan Super League and offer my sincere apologies to the people of Pakistan, the fans of Peshawar Zalmi, and the wider cricket community,” Bosch said in a statement released by the PCB, accepting “full responsibility” for his actions.

While Bosch has been barred from next year’s PSL, the board did not clarify if the ban would impact his participation in other leagues under its jurisdiction.

The PSL, Pakistan’s flagship Twenty20 competition, has gained global prominence in recent years, attracting international talent from across the cricketing world.

Bosch, who has featured in several T20 tournaments worldwide, said he remains hopeful of returning to the PSL in the future.

“This has been a hard lesson, but I am committed to learning from this experience,” he said.

The eagerly awaited 10th edition of the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) is set to kick off on Friday, April 11, with defending champions Islamabad United taking on two-time winners Lahore Qalandars at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

The six-team tournament will feature a total of 34 matches from April 11 to May 18. Lahore's Gaddafi Stadium will host 13 matches, including the two Eliminators and the grand final.

Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium will host 11 matches, including the first Qualifier on May 13, while Karachi's National Bank Stadium and Multan Cricket Stadium will each host five matches.

The tournament will also include three double-headers, with two scheduled for Saturdays and one on Labour Day (May 1).
