The staff of the Estate Office allegedly conspired to evict a low-ranking government employee and his family from a government quarter in Sector G-6, throwing their belongings out onto the street.
In response to the misuse of authority and a complaint by the distressed employee, the Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Housing and Works, Ghayas Ahmed, has ordered a swift inquiry, seeking a report.
According to reports, the 56-year-old government employee, Muhammad Irshad, submitted a request to the Secretary of the Ministry of Housing and Works on Tuesday, stating that he had been residing with his family for several decades in Government Quarter 105-B, located in Street 18 of Sector G-6.
A few months ago, the Estate Office staff contacted him, threatening that he had rented out the government property. In fact, the staff allegedly conspired to allocate the property to someone else. Irshad clarified that he lived there with his wife, Shaista Irshad, and their daughter, and had never rented out the quarter.
Irshad also submitted his marriage certificate to the Estate Office, explaining that some local residents, perceiving him as poor and vulnerable, had been pressuring the office to allocate the quarter to a relative through alleged collusion with the Estate Office staff. These individuals falsely accused him of renting the property, although this was entirely untrue.
On April 8, when Irshad went to work, the Estate Office staff allegedly raided his government quarter and forcibly evicted his family, assaulting them in the process.
