HYDERABAD:

President Hyderabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (HCCI) Adeel Siddiqui has said that the government's proposal to shift Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Hyderabad to Jamshoro would be the violation of rights of youths. He urged government to review its decision.

HCCI Chief was addressing members of business community on Sunday. Members of executive committee of HCCI also expressed concern over such proposal and said that it would impact education as well as the employment opportunities of people locally.

Adeel said that the shifting of board would cause administrative disruption as well.

He added,Hyderabad division comprises nine districts and over 0.2m students are enrolled in BISE, 65% of which belong to Hyderabad district alone.

He said that its shifting would create serious logistical issues for students. He said that business related with BISE Hyderabad would also be hit besides operational issues of the BISE. He said that it seemed the decision was taken due to administrative lapses within BISE but then which government department was free of such administrative irregularities. For instance, he said, inquiry into Civil Hospital Hyderabad was pending with the chief minister's inspection team since 2023, should it mean to shift the hospital from Hyderabad to Jamshoro.

Adeel appealed the government to review its decision and engage stakeholders instead of giving effect to the proposal.
