OKARA:

In the outskirts of Okara on Saturday a fire broke out in a room of a house in village 31 GD, claiming the lives of two young siblings and leaving a third brother critically injured.

According to local sources, the blaze erupted in the home of a labourer, Zahrey Khan, while his three children were asleep in a room. Zahrey had gone out to purchase medicine for his wife when the fire broke out, reportedly caused by burning straw used for heating in the room.

The fire quickly engulfed the room, trapping the children inside. Hearing their screams and seeing the flames, local residents rushed to the scene and managed to extinguish the fire before the arrival of rescue teams. They pulled the children from the burning room, but two had succumbed to burn injuries.
