LAHORE:

An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Lahore on Saturday adjourned proceedings until April 7 in four cases linked to the May 9 riots, involving senior PTI leaders Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Ijaz Chaudhry, Dr Yasmeen Rashid, and others.

The cases stem from violent protests that erupted following the arrest of PTI's founding chairman Imran Khan, during which incidents of arson, vandalism, and attacks on public and private property were reported.

The accused were presented before the court, but the hearing could not proceed as the concerned judge was on leave.

In the interim, the duty judge fixed the next date for hearing.

The FIRs registered against the accused include serious charges, such as creating anarchy, inciting chaos, arson, and attacking a PML-N office and setting ablaze a container during the unrest on May 9.
