Meghan Markle marked the U.K.’s Mothering Sunday with a simple yet heartfelt gesture, sharing a photo of a homemade dessert on her personal Instagram account. The Duchess of Sussex, 43, posted the image of a pie decorated with orange slices and a red edible flower, captioning it: “Our family tradition. Mothering Sunday in the UK 🍋.”
This personal touch is consistent with the broader tone of her Instagram presence. Since launching the account at the start of 2025, Meghan has been using the platform to showcase baking projects, recipes, and everyday moments with her children — Prince Archie, 5, and Princess Lilibet, 3 — whom she shares with Prince Harry.
Rather than spotlighting royal duties or public appearances, Meghan’s social media shares have leaned into a quieter life rooted in family and creativity. They reflect a desire to nurture her interests in cooking, gardening, and jam-making — hobbies she’s revisited as her children grow older.
In a recent interview with People, Meghan reflected on rediscovering her identity through these everyday joys. “When your children get to a certain age… it’s super joyful,” she said. “To be able to find yourself again… is a wonderful feeling.”
It’s not the first time Meghan has spoken candidly about motherhood in a public setting. During a visit to Nigeria in May 2024 — which coincided with U.S. Mother’s Day — she expressed both gratitude and longing. “I’m missing my babies,” she said in a video shared by Arochukwu Network, “but it feels very appropriate to be here… amongst family.”
With her latest post, Meghan continues to shape a public image grounded in authenticity, tradition, and motherhood — one homemade pie at a time.
