
The mystery behind the armed robbery at a petrol pump in the Sadar Beruni area has been solved, revealing that one of the pump's own employees was involved in the crime.
A spokesperson said the police have arrested the employee along with his accomplice and recovered over Rs1.9m in stolen cash.
He said three days ago, the pump staff was on its way to deposit Rs1.92m in bank when assailants snatched the cash away.
"Using technical resources, police uncovered that the robbery was orchestrated by the pump's employee, Faizan, with his Afghan accomplice, Anzar Gul, alias Bora."
Both suspects have been arrested, and all the stolen cash has been recovered.
