Bus overturns on M-2 in Kallar Kahar, kills five; dumper crushes four to death in capital

Three separate road traffic accidents in Islamabad and Kallah Kahar claimed 11 lives on Friday and left approximately 20 people injured.

In the first incident, a tragic accident occurred on IJP Road in Islamabad when a dump truck overturned crushing several vehicles beneath it.

The accident resulted in the deaths of four people and left three others injured.

According to the Islamabad police, the accident occurred when the dump truck lost control and overturned onto the vehicles, causing severe damage.

Emergency services and police arrived at the scene promptly and transported the bodies and injured victims to a nearby hospital for treatment.

The police have launched efforts to arrest the dump truck driver, who is believed to be responsible for the deadly incident.

Authorities are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident.

The second accident that occurred on the M-2 Motorway near Kallar Kahar's Salt Range claimed the lives of five people and left 17 others injured after a passenger bus overturned.

Four of the injured are reported to be in critical condition.

According to motorway police officials, the non-AC passenger bus (registration number JB-5836) was travelling from Rawalpindi to Vehari with more than 30 passengers onboard.

As it reached Kallar Kahar, the driver reportedly lost control, causing the bus to overturn.

Rescue 1122 teams and motorway police personnel arrived at the scene immediately after receiving the alert and launched rescue operations.

The accident was so severe that passengers were trapped inside the wreckage.

Rescuers managed to extract the 17 injured individuals, providing them with first aid before transferring them to the Kallar Kahar Trauma Centre and later to nearby hospitals.

Four of them remain in critical condition.

Among the five deceased, four have been identified as 39-year-old Abid from Sahiwal, 26-year-old Arsalan from Arifwala, 19-year-old Ali Raza from Bahawalpur, and 26-year-old Zaheer from Pakpattan.

The identity of the fifth victim has not yet been determined.

Authorities confirmed that the bodies of the deceased have been sent to their respective hometowns.

Motorway police stated that they secured the accident site and collected evidence.

Initial reports suggest the crash was caused by the driver's negligence, but further investigations are underway to determine the exact cause.
