Officers bribery taints SDA
Disgruntled employees have registered complaint with the Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) against corruption in Sehwan Development Authority.
Reports have emerged of Sehwan Development Authority (SDA) employees being promoted from Scale 1 to Scale 17 with backdated records.
Further, 480 employees of the department have not been paid their salaries for the past three years, despite officers allegedly collecting bribes worth millions from employees for illegal promotions and salary increases.
SDA employees, Sub-Engineer Parvez Ahmed, and Assistant Director Muzaffar Ali Kharal have filed a complaint with Anti-Corruption Establishment, Jamshoro.
The complaint states that on September 25, 2024, the additional chief secretary imposed a ban on promotions in local government institutions with a committee led by the special secretary local government to handle them. Despite this, the former SDA Director Ishaq Khuhro, along with other officials, illegally promoted approximately 85 employees by taking bribes. Employees further claimed that they were denied their rightful promotions upon refusing to give bribes; however, members of the promotion committee promoted themselves and other select employees.
