ISLAMABAD: The National University of Modern Languages (NUML) University’s policy of paying one semester’s fee in advance has been amended during a meeting that took place yesterday. This policy and the implications it was having on the students was brought to the notice of the University because of The Express Tribune’s interview with the NUML spokesperson.

“I realised the harm this policy was having on our students and the issue was raised at the meeting,” said Muddasir, the NUML spokesperson. Rector of the University, Dr Aziz Ahmed Khan, felt that policies needed to facilitate students, instead of further burdening them. Students will now only have to deposit Rs24,000, a semester’s fee, in advance. Once the results are announced, students unable to clear their exams will be refunded Rs23,300. Participants of the meeting felt that all universities should follow international fee methods.
