CHICHAWATNI:

Two brothers were shot dead in a tragic land dispute in a village near Chichawatni. The assailants, including the victims' two uncles and a cousin, ambushed them.

According to police reports, 29-year-old Arshad and his 27-year-old brother Akhtar Ali were returning home after collecting fodder for their livestock when armed suspects—identified as Babar, Arshad, Hasnain, and two unidentified accomplices ambushed them and fired indiscriminately.

Both brothers sustained severe injuries and succumbed to their wounds before medical assistance could reach them. The suspects fled the scene after the attack.

The dispute between the victims and the accused had been ongoing due to a land-related legal battle. Upon receiving the information, DSP Taseer Riaz, along with the Okanwala Bangla police, reached the crime scene and directed the SHO to ensure the swift arrest of the culprits.

The bodies were shifted to the Tehsil Hospital for post-mortem examination.

Following the orders of DPO Sahiwal, Rana Tahir Rehman Khan, the police launched an intensive operation using modern technology.

In a swift breakthrough, suspect Basharat was apprehended. The DPO commended the police team for their prompt action and ordered continued raids under the supervision of SDPO Chichawatni to arrest the remaining suspects.
