YouTube superstar MrBeast is facing online heat after poking fun at Ashton Hall’s now-iconic morning routine that’s taken the internet by storm. In a March 24 post on X, formerly Twitter, MrBeast shared a screenshot of his iMessages from a contact labeled "Personal Assistant," which jokingly directed him to complete absurd tasks like diving into a pool, rubbing banana peel on his face, and standing on a balcony for an hour. “I accidentally slept in and missed my morning routine,” he wrote in the caption — a direct nod to Hall’s viral video.

The original video, titled ‘The Morning Routine That Changed My Life: 3:50 AM to 9:30 AM’, shows Hall waking up before dawn, drinking Saratoga water, working out, journaling, and dunking his face in freezing water — not once but multiple times — while also rubbing a banana peel on his face as part of a skincare ritual.
With over 40 million views on YouTube, the clip has become a cultural moment, sparking memes and inspiring countless takes — MrBeast’s being one of them.
Morning gang, don’t forget to dunk your face in ice water today 💪🏻

But not everyone was laughing. “The joke officially died,” one unimpressed user wrote in response to MrBeast’s parody. Another added, “You ruin every joke on the internet.” Others called out the YouTuber for assigning Hall the title of “Personal Assistant” in his phone, with one remarking, “You put him in the phone underneath personal assistant? Poor guy doesn’t even have a name.” A more frustrated fan tweeted, “Don’t ruin the joke, man. Stay away.”

Some users admitted they were confused, with one asking, “Is he making someone’s fun?” and another chiming in, “I missed all this and my timeline is full of it, can someone explain?”
I missed all this and my timeline is full of it, can someone explain?😅

While many believe MrBeast’s jab was harmless fun, the backlash reveals just how protective the internet has become over its latest obsession. Hall’s quirky dedication — particularly his use of Saratoga water — even led to a 1,379% surge in Google searches for the brand, showing how impactful the trend has become.
As of now, neither MrBeast nor Hall has responded to the criticism. But with the internet divided, it seems even harmless parody can walk a thin line when it comes to viral routines.
