RAWALPINDI:

Ahead of Eidul Fitr, all 45 recreational spots across the city are undergoing extensive renovations to enhance the festive experience.

New amusement rides, including battery-operated cars, dodging cars, and computer games, are being introduced for children.

At Ayub National Park, modern boats have been added to the three lakes for visitors to enjoy boating.

Joyland is installing European-style amusement rides, while a variety of animals—including pet birds, predators like wolves, lions, cheetahs, and bears, as well as elephants, ostriches, deer, and monkeys—will be on display to captivate children.

New species of aquatic birds have also been introduced to the lakes.

In Patriata, the popular chairlift has been upgraded and will be operational for Eid.

Entry to all parks will remain free, but rides and other attractions will have ticketed access, with prices increased this year due to inflation. Parking fees for cars and motorcycles have also been raised.

To ensure security, CCTV cameras are being installed at all recreational sites, set to be fully functional a day before Eid. Additional security guards have been deployed, and security protocols have been upgraded.

During the first three days of Eid, parks will remain open from 9 AM until 1 AM, while on the fourth day, regular hours of 10 AM to midnight will resume.

Food stalls, including both regular and additional vendors, will be set up across parks.

Larger parks will also offer camel and horse rides, as well as pony and carriage rides.

Modern decorative lighting has been installed across parks, and floral arrangements have been used to enhance the festive ambience.

Family-friendly attractions, including small monuments, have been introduced for visitors' enjoyment.

According to Parks & Horticulture Authority Director General Ahmed Hassan Ranjha, the renovation and decoration of all parks will be completed by March 30.

Security arrangements will be strictly enforced, particularly at major parks such as Children's Park, Ladies Park, Ayub Park, Allama Iqbal Park, Shehbaz Sharif Park, Patriata Park, and Jinnah Park.
