In a nail-biting finish at the Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam on Tuesday, Delhi Capitals pulled off a stunning one-wicket victory over Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), overcoming an early batting collapse to secure the win.

After winning the toss, Delhi Capitals opted to bowl first. LSG’s innings got off to a rocky start, losing Aiden Markram within the first five overs. However, a quick recovery saw the team cross the 100-run mark by the 9th over, thanks to aggressive stroke play across the ground.

LSG’s momentum slowed in the latter half as they struggled to maintain partnerships. The side lost four wickets between the 15th and 20th overs, including two dismissals each in the 17th and 19th overs. Despite the collapse, LSG posted a competitive total of 209/8 in their 20 overs.

Chasing 210, Delhi Capitals had a disastrous start, losing two wickets in the opening over and four within the powerplay. By the seventh over, half the side was back in the pavilion, and the scoreboard reflected a modest total under 90 at the halfway mark.

However, the lower-order batters staged a remarkable fightback. By the 15th over, the team had recovered to around 150 runs and continued to close the gap. With 22 runs needed off the final two overs, the game remained on a knife’s edge.

In a tense final over, Delhi required six runs from six balls. Ashutosh Sharma held his nerve and guided the Capitals home with just one wicket in hand, sealing a memorable victory and completing a dramatic turnaround.
