The Karachi Kings have announced the appointment of Australian cricket star David Warner as captain for the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 10, scheduled to begin on April 11.
The left-handed opener, widely respected for his aggressive style and leadership credentials, will lead the Kings as they aim for a fresh start in the upcoming season.
Warner, a T20 World Cup winner and one of the most experienced players in the global circuit, was the Kings’ first pick during the HBL PSL 2025 Players Draft, held on January 13 at Hazuri Bagh, Lahore.
With leadership experience from the Big Bash League (BBL) and other international tournaments, Warner is expected to bring renewed energy and direction to the Karachi-based franchise.
The franchise also expressed gratitude to Shan Masood, who captained the side in PSL Season 9. “Shan’s leadership laid the foundation for a revitalised Karachi Kings. His professionalism and tactical insight were key to shaping a balanced squad,” the management said in a statement.
The Karachi Kings will open their campaign on April 12, facing Multan Sultans at their home ground, National Bank Stadium, Karachi.
