Mad Men star January Jones expressed her frustration on Instagram after her flight was delayed by over 16 hours, accusing United Airlines of insufficient compensation.

The 47-year-old actress, known for her role as Betty Draper on the acclaimed series, shared a screenshot of her delayed flight, which she said took 16 hours and 25 minutes beyond the scheduled time.In her Instagram post, Jones slammed the airline for offering only "a couple $15 food vouchers" for the inconvenience, writing, "Do better" while tagging United Airlines’ official account. United Airlines clarified that the flight Jones was scheduled to take was operated by regional carrier SkyWest under the United Express brand. A spokesperson from SkyWest explained that the delay was caused by a mechanical issue, and a new aircraft was being arranged to get passengers to their destinations as quickly as possible. The airline also offered meal vouchers as compensation and apologized for the disruption.

SkyWest’s official website states that they make efforts to keep passengers informed during operational irregularities and provide meal and overnight accommodations in cases of cancellations due to factors within their control. According to the U.S. Department of Transportation, competing airlines like JetBlue, Delta, Southwest, and American Airlines provide meal vouchers or cash if passengers experience a delay of three hours or more.

Jones, who rose to fame with roles in American Wedding (2003) and Mad Men (2007-2015), recently made a cameo in the Netflix drama Spinning Out (2020). Known for her private life, she has a 13-year-old son, Xander Dane, whose father’s identity remains undisclosed. Jones previously stated that revealing personal details about her son was "not the public’s business."
