The FIA Anti-Corruption Circle Islamabad has completed an inquiry into a major scandal involving the illegal allocation of plots based on acquired land in various areas of Islamabad.
The scandal involved allotting plots to ineligible individuals using fake and forged documents. The FIA has filed a case against 46 officials of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) and related departments. Four officials, including an Additional Director, have been arrested, while raids are ongoing to arrest others.
According to officials, FIA Deputy Director Anti-Corruption Circle Islamabad, Afzal Khan Niazi, uncovered the allotment of plots based on fake documents in various sectors and areas of Islamabad between 2006 and 2019.
This came to light after a complaint from the Deputy Director of CDA's Confidential Cell. Following judicial approval for action, a case was filed against the 46 officers involved.
These officers, in collusion with private individuals, had allotted 43 plots using fraudulent documents. After the case was registered, FIA conducted raids and arrested four CDA officials: Additional Director Asif Ali Khan, Deputy Director Imdad Ali, EMO Ali Mustafa, and Assistant Arshad Mehmood.
FIA officials stated that the accused, through corrupt practices, allotted 43 plots to ineligible individuals in various sectors of Islamabad. The conspirators, along with their accomplices, illegally allocated plots worth billions of rupees to unrelated individuals.
A total of 46 individuals have been nominated in the case.
