Pakistani actor and host Danish Taimoor has apologised for his recent comments about the possibility of having four marriages, which sparked widespread criticism on social media.

The remarks were made during a Ramadan transmission aired on a private television channel.

Taimoor discussed the topic of multiple marriages, stating, "I have the permission from God for four marriages, I’m not doing it 'for now.'" The phrase “for now” triggered an uproar among viewers, who interpreted it as an indication that Taimoor may be considering another marriage in the future.

The statement quickly gained traction online, leading to a backlash from fans and social media users. Many expressed concerns that the comment disrespected Taimoor’s wife, actress Ayeza Khan, and questioned the actor’s intentions.

In response to the backlash, Taimoor released a video message apologising for his words. In the video, he acknowledged the anger and frustration his remarks had caused, emphasising that the term “for now” is commonly used by him to imply that he is not focused on the future and prefers to live in the present moment.

He clarified that his comment was not meant to suggest any future plans regarding marriage and expressed regret if his words had caused offense.

Taimoor also addressed concerns that his comment may have hurt his wife, Ayeza Khan, stating that he loves her dearly and did not intend to disrespect her in any way. He concluded his apology by offering a heartfelt regret for the misunderstanding.
