RAWALPINDI:

In the wake of increasing incidents of terrorism, the Divisional Intelligence Committee (DIC) has initiated a screening process to ensure fully that there are no Afghan nationals, criminals, or terrorists within the security staff of private housing schemes situated in Rawalpindi.

A key meeting was held with the owners of 79 private housing schemes, led by Rawalpindi Commissioner Abdul Amir Khattak and the Director-General of Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA), Kinza Murtaza. Sources say an investigation into the security personnel at these housing schemes has been initiated based on intelligence reports.

In light of previous security concerns within private housing societies in Rawalpindi, the first phase of the initiative focuses on addressing security and environmental concerns.

The meeting aimed to discuss security arrangements, environmental issues, and the approval process for private housing societies in the region.
