The Rawalpindi Bench of the Lahore High Court heard a case regarding the alleged disappearance of a citizen, revealing that the young man, who was arrested on October 16, 2024, at Fawara Chowk, Raja Bazaar, in front of hundreds of people, is currently imprisoned in Adiala Jail.
Justice Tariq Bajwa of the High Court has issued a notice to the Superintendent of Adiala Jail, demanding a report by March 20.
During the hearing, Muhammad Tariq, the brother of the missing citizen Noorul Islam, informed the court that the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) abducted his brother from Raja Bazaar and has yet to present him before any court. He urged the authorities to take action against those responsible.
Following the court's directive, CTD and Rawalpindi Police submitted their reports, stating that they had not taken anyone into custody and were still working to trace the alleged kidnapper. However, Noorul Islam's brother revealed in court that they had just been informed of his detention in Adiala Jail. The court has now sought a detailed report from the Superintendent of Adiala Jail and adjourned the hearing until March 20.
