Maitland Ward, the former Boy Meets World star, has opened up about her transformative journey from mainstream television to the adult film industry, revealing how it has granted her newfound respect and empowerment.
In a recent interview with Fox News, Ward, 48, shared that she now feels treated with "more respect" in Hollywood. "People are so respectful and positive about my story, especially younger people," she said, explaining that even as she pitches her memoir as a TV format, her experience has been met with enthusiasm.
Before her career shift in 2019, Ward was best known for her roles in The Bold and the Beautiful and Boy Meets World. However, after a hiatus from mainstream acting, she found herself embraced by the adult film world, receiving an overwhelmingly positive response. "I got so much positivity, which shocked everyone I knew," Ward remarked, attributing much of her success to her positive attitude and confidence.
In addition to her career in adult entertainment, Ward noted the personal growth she’s experienced. She gained body confidence and a sense of empowerment that she previously lacked. “On porn sets, I’ve felt the most comfortable I’ve ever been,” she explained, praising the open and communicative nature of the industry.
Ward, who recently attended the 2025 AVN Expo, continues to thrive in the adult industry, with her work now earning her six figures monthly. She also discussed the freedom she feels in crafting her own brand and content, marking a stark contrast from the constraints of her past Hollywood experiences.
Having documented her journey in her memoir Rated X: How Porn Liberated Me from Hollywood, Ward remains unapologetic about her choice, celebrating the freedom and empowerment it has brought her.
