ISLAMABAD:

The FIA cybercrime wing in Islamabad has registered three cases under the PECA for allegedly spreading false information and inciting public sentiment against state institutions in the wake of the Jaffar Express attack.

According to the FIRs, the accused attempted to promote a proscribed organisation through their social media accounts and were involved in propaganda aimed at instigating the public against state institutions.

It stated that verified social media accounts were used to create uncertainty among the public. Sources said that investigations were ongoing, and further social media accounts were being scrutinised.
